Aaron Li
Founder
I was born in Birmingham, where I lived with my sister and parents. I lived here up until the age of 6. Education being important, my parents encouraged me to strive towards attaining a place at a Grammar school. Subsequently, after passing the 11+, we then moved to Kent as I gained a place at one of the best ranked Grammar schools in the UK.
My father emigrated to the UK in 1983, not knowing any English and trying to build a life was difficult. He's explained the process of moving, learning a new language and embracing the values and culture here can be a lot to process, but with help relocation would have been much easier. Hence the reason to cofound the theBNOagency.com.
Having worked as a property agent for a number of years, this has taken me to various areas in the UK including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Sheffield to name a few. I understand the property process and can help with securing your new home. I feel with my personal and professional experience I can help BNOs settle into life in the UK much smoother.
Outside of work, I am also an avid sports fan, following Liverpool FC, Formula 1 and tennis. I enjoy going to the gym, heading into London to socialise with friends, exploring new places to eat and constantly seeing what London has to offer.
My first language is English and I can speak conversational Cantonese and Spanish.
Being British-born Chinese, Aaron and Bo have grown accustomed to life in the UK and feel they can help new BNOs with adapting in their new lives in Britain.
Their families' immigrated from Hong Kong to the UK in 1961 and so understand how difficult it can be to settle in a new environment, where language and culture can be a barrier.

Born and brought up here, I have lived my entire life in the UK. My father emigrated to England in 1961 without any knowledge of the local language, custom and way of life. Understanding how difficult that must have been for him has inspired me to cofound the theBNOagency.com.
I grew up in the market town of Bedford before heading to Northampton area to study Business. Upon graduation, I moved to London living in various areas including the Boroughs of Brent, Harrow, Islington and Tower Hamlets where I bought my first property in the financial hub known as Canary Wharf. After meeting my wife, Lysan, we had our first child Kai and moved to Milton Keynes where we still live today. I have an excellent knowledge of UK towns and cities, having worked in the London and Birmingham areas I have a good knowledge of areas in Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton, Bristol and Nottingham.
Asides from theBNOagency.com, I started my own recruitment business nearly 20 years ago. I am a keen property investor with buy to let properties in London, Milton Keynes and Austria. I also own a Property Management Company and a Serviced Apartment firm.
Having run my own businesses, I also have a well-rounded knowledge of UK taxation and accounting, property, mortgages, the UK schooling system (we have two boys currently studying for their GCSEs), employment, financial investments (including ISAs, SIPPs) and general affairs.
It's not all work, I am an avid sports fan. I love to cruise down a mountain on my snowboard or skis. I also play tennis and badminton and I follow my beloved Liverpool FC. A self-confessed ‘foodie’, I enjoy almost every cuisine, I can be found equally comfortable in street food festival in Shoreditch or a lovely Sushi bar in the West End.
English is my first language but I can speak Cantonese, basic Mandarin and Italian.
